Our Current Grants

We structure our grantmaking in cohorts - a group of grantees who begin their six-year partnership with Women First at the same time and collaborate through shared learning and expertise. We fund thematically, with a current focus on economic empowerment.

Women First currently funds in five countries — Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, and India — where we have over 50 years of grantmaking experience. Our geographic focus helps us to facilitate networking, convening, and learning opportunities between our grantee partners, which is critical for catalyzing and sustaining local movements. It also allows us to be more present in the places we have grantee partners, and to collaborate with other national and regional stakeholders.

By interacting with the map below, you can get to know our current grantee partners and learn how they are partnering with Women First to improve the livelihoods and financial independence of women, girls, and trans people in their communities.
