Senior Executive in Financial Services

Pamela Root is a qualified NY lawyer with 30+ years as a senior executive in financial services where she ran compliance and legal departments and managed compliance, legal, regulatory, and other non-financial risks for Deutsche Bank, Citigroup, and Goldman Sachs, living in New York, London / Frankfurt, and Hong Kong. Those roles required her to navigate complex regulatory and business environments, challenge groupthink to drive tough decisions collaboratively, strengthen ethical standards, enhance governance and sustainability frameworks, and execute on complex remediations and transformation. 

Pamela holds an LLM (Jan. 2025) in Environmental Law, specializing in Energy & Climate Change, from The Elizabeth Haub School of Law, Pace University, a JD (1981) from New York University School of Law and a BA from Bryn Mawr College (1976). She also holds the directorship certification from the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). Pamela currently serves on the board of her condominium and previously served as president of a co-op board. She sat on the Parents’ Advisory Committee at Hamilton College and was a member of various banking and financial services industry committees. 

Pamela is an adventurous traveler and has visited more than 35 countries and all seven continents. She enjoys tennis, pickleball, hiking, running, and skiing (downhill and Nordic). She has three children, and two grandchildren.
